Greg is Managing Partner, VRG Capital Corp., a family office focused on private equity investments and he brings to Lumira over 30 years of operational and investment experience.
From 1981 to 1997 Greg and his partner built and managed one of the largest event and conference companies in Canada, Mariposa Communications. The company was sold to Mosaic Group, a publicly traded business in 1997. Greg then served as a Managing Partner with Mosaic Group until 2001. In 2001 he became a lead investor in Pareto Corporation, a start-up marketing services business, The company became publicly traded in 2004, and he served as a director until 2010 when the company was sold to a private equity firm. In 2012 he became a lead investor and Director of Wheels Group, a publicly traded third party logistics firm. In 2015 the company was sold to Radiant Logistics, a U.S. based publicly listed business. In 2015 Greg became a lead investor and Director of Jones Brown Insurance, one of Canada’s largest Insurance Brokerages. Greg has also been involved at the operational and board levels in a number of businesses including Lise Watier Cosmetics, Future Bright Insurance Corp., Thistle Printing, MPH Printing and Capri Media Group. Inaddition to his advisory role at Lumira he is also on the on the advisory boards of Clarus Securities and Kensington Capital Partners.
He is a founding donor of the Centre for Business Venturing at Queen’s University and is a member of the Business School’s Advisory Board. Greg is a co-chair of “Capitalize 4 Kids,” an innovative non-profit that serves as a sustainable and growing source of capital in support of children’s brain and mental health and he has served on boards for groups and associations such as Junior Achievement, The Down Syndrome Association of Toronto, The Canadian Business Hall of Fame, St. Josephs Health Centre, and several others. In 1992, Greg received Canada’s 125th Commemorative Anniversary medal for volunteerism in the community.
He has an M.B.A. from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, and a degree in Business from Bishops University in Lennoxville, Quebec.
